Paul McCarthy is the artist-icon of the American contemporary art.

Soon, he became both a popular and debated artist. Today  that he is 65, Mc Carthy is still a dreamer (as all the people that belong to the generation of the ‘60s and ‘70s)  that rejects all that the present world offers as The Pursuit of Happyness.

The Fondazione Nicola Trussardi invited him to project a show for Palazzo Citterio, in Via Brera, Milan.

It’s called “Pig Island” and it is an amusement park with a carnival style (the artist has been working for seven years to prepare it).

An approaching between minimalism and performance, Walt Disney and George W. Bush, Angelina Jolie, Osama Bin Laden, Snow White and so on.

A one and only- irreverent language that links and mixes up pop art with folktales, politics – accounts with show business and international gossip.

The  artwork will be exhibited at Palazzo Citterio. This is the chance to create a new and unique architectural atmosphere that doesn’t host visitors since the ‘80s.

So, we have to wait for the 20th of May 2010, vernissage at 6.30 pm.

The appointment is not to be missed, but for those who won’t be there the 20th, the exhibition will continue until the 4th of July 2010.
